Paris Hilton not so smart, but do we really care?

Someone broke into Paris Hilton’s house and stole $2 million worth of jewelry and other belongings. How did this happen with her advanced security? Well she left the front door unlocked while attending a birthday party for Christina Aguilera.  To make matters worse, she wasn’t even invited to the party.

“Hilton and Flickinger were at LA restaurant Saam Thursday night in the private dining area when Christina Aguilera, who was celebrating her 28th birthday, walked in. “Christina was with hubby Jordan Bratman, Nicole Richie and Joel and Benji Madden,” our spy said. “Paris wasn’t invited and left shortly before they arrived so she wouldn’t have to see Benji or be asked to leave the private area for Christina.”

Competition for the distinction of most beautiful woman has come down to a tight contest between vivacious Halle Berry and long-dead Ava Gardner, according to the latest results from an unscientific reader survey by the “In Your Face” blog.

They’re two of eight actresses and singers in the slide show, “Who’s fairest of them all?” that readers can see by clicking MORE PHOTOS before casting a vote in the survey.

Those two actresses had gained the most votes as of mid-afternoon Oct. 16. But don’t count out actress Angelina Jolie. She triggered an initial survey and then a follow-up one, based on her status as the woman whom female plastic surgery patients most frequently say they wish they looked like.

So far, 40 percent of readers have said “Yes” to the question, “Is Angelina Jolie the world’s most beautiful woman?”  while 60 percent said “No.”

In the follow-up survey, Ava Gardner is the top vote-getter in readers’ responses to the question, “If not Angelina Jolie, who’s the most beautiful woman?” She has 26 percent of the votes so far, trailed closely by Halle Berry with 23 percent.

Others in the survey include Penelope Cruz, with 13 percent of the vote, and Jennifer Connelly, with 10 percent.
